Fishy Fishy

Oh my word! Thai fishermen caught a Mekong GIANT (2.7m / 293 kg) catfish. It died as environmentalist and villagers negotiated its fate - Eat it or let it make babies - Eat it won.

Apparently, this fishy had a notorious close relative "Kuno the Killer" (1.5m / 35 kg) that ate a dog and terrorized a German lake for years before dying in 2003. heeheehee okay so maybe its a bit evil of me, but I do find that story funny - I love dogs - But its funny!

Anyways, this latest big stud, now holds the title of world's largest fresh water fish to be caught.

***History Interlude - Okanagan Lake (BC, Canada) has our own infamous fishy or serpent or monster...not quite sure since it has proven to be elusive. Before there were settlers, Aboriginals would take great care when canoeing in the turbulent waters near Squally Point & Rattle Snake Island. They would carry a small animal (like a dog heeheehee) to appease the creature called N'haaitk (Demon of the Lake) later re-named the Ogopogo by druken sailers. From pictographs of long ago to this day there continue to be sightings of this famed creature. ***

Crazy that we know more about space then we do about the waters and oceans in our front yard!! Crazier still we have the technology to explore space, but are limited in our ability to move around and explore the depths of our oceans.

Maybe if we invested more in oceanography we would have a better understanding of our weather systems??? Maybe we would get a clue about how our earth naturally renews itself and learn to take better care of our environment??? Maybe we might discover other natural resources and new species we share our home with??? And maybe we just might learn more about our big fishy, the N'haaitk. hummm sadly we tend to be more reactive then proactive.

I Love Geeks!

Thank you my dear geek friends (and i mean this in the most complementary way) for putting up with my 101 questions about HTML! I think I have finally got the background to a point I can live with for the moment. Next week I may not think so, but I'll deal with that later ;)

So tomorrow - well, technically today - will be my first day teaching Belly dancing...Oh my word! What was I thinking? (Nervous, excited, terrified) Yeah, that's right...I admit it...I am whimp ass. Okay. If I manage to not knock-out one of the students with my flailing snake arms it might actually go alright. Maybe it would be better to call it "leading" class rather then "teaching"...it sounds less intimidating.

I errrr ummm yeah don't have a clue what I am going to do yet (shhhh probably not something I should admit) But I work better under pressure...really! 2 am oh there is LOTS of time to figure out what I am going to do - Class is not until 1pm. I'll think about it during morning staff meeting. See I got it covered ;)

Random thoughts:

  • Pastor's Advice: "Throw the damn box out the window! Think in shades instead!" Okay so maybe those were not his exact words, but you get the idea. I like it. I am sick of the line "Think outside the box". The damn box only brings to mind convention - setting up standards and directing thought. But colour and shades offer unlimited scope for creativity.
  • Eye Candy Alert: There is something quite yummy in the "water" in the UK judging from the lastest pics from Jon. Ex-roomies what do you think about a 3's company reunion? Perhaps some sight seeing at Cowes habour?
  • Health Note: Angel, my sister island girl, recommended this new pyramid weights training method - 12 reps (moderate), 10 reps (heavy), 8 reps (heaviest). I am getting bored with my routine, so this will be a welcome change.
  • Friends: Cheryl, 9 more days to trouble! heeheehee I can't wait! // Christophe, Congradulations on the job! See I told you, you do have lots to offer ;)
  • GEEKS SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH - once again Thank You!
