Philippines After 10 Years!
Wow so its been a long time! I got back from the Philippines a few weeks ago - It was INCREDIBLY FABULOUS although a bit exhausting. Oh how I miss my family there already! Funny that the last time I was there was 10 years ago! I can't believe how long ago it has been already.
I must say from the moment our plane landed, my body knew I was in the Philippines! Oh how I love the humidity (well my skin does anyways). It was exhausting, but very good being back. Unfortunately most of my pictures are on my uncle's computer in the Philippines, but I will post a few as they come in.
Anyways, it was a crazy and busy trip. I had so much to do...mostly family stuff. But finally I feel like things are moving forward! :) I am very excited since I filmed what I needed of Pioneer High School - Which I am trying to raise $$ to rebuild and improve. It is a school that my family manages - Our family has been dedicated to education going back to my great-grandfather (Juan Perez) and my grandfather (Moises Fernandez). Now I just have to figure out how to edit and paste all the film clips together...hahaha
The most entertaining part of that trip was Simon. This was his first time traveling to the Philippines so he was curious to see more rural areas and the famous Mayon Volcano. Anyways, to get to the school you must ride on a banka (local long narrow boat). What he didn't realize is that when we arrived in Parokan (being a rural area)there is no marina to simply walk off the boat. You must be carried off the boat. Since Simon is relatively tall Portuguese, well...it took 5 people to help him to land. I will never forget the look on his face when he realized that he would be carried! hahaha My cousin Chopay is most decidedly a city girl so the poor girl kept flinching everytime a little water splashed. As for me, I know I must have looked a mess - dry salt on my face (I refused to allow them to lower the blinders) and my hair tangled in every which way.
Well, there is much more to say, but I will continue as my uncle sends my pictures. As for right now, I must pack for Korea - hahaha, yes I will very soon be on a plane again. Its wierd, I never really thought of moving there. But I am excited about it - I can help my family more from there (earning more $$), I will be closer to the Philippines (3 hour flight away), I can save funds to move to Europe the following year, and Of Course I will get to be Cheryl Turnbull's roomate again!! Its funny - ever since the spontaneous, "lets check out the opporunties in Korea" - I have been madly researching everything I can about Korea!! I am excited - its just wierd because I don't feel like I am actually going yet. But typical of me - it probably won't hit me until I am coming off the plane.

Random thoughts:
- Jeff & Jermaine - My dear cousins I am PROUD of you for quitting the disgusting habit of smoking :)
- Angel - Congradulations on your second Kicking of Corporate Ass! I say we get our experience, get the travel idea in the works, then invest in beautiful island resorts in the Philippines!!! Knowing us - It will happen, but there will be twists and turns and other distractions which we just have to take advantage of on the way!
- Sam Milby - Popular model/actor/singer in the Philippines - Not sure about this singing, but he is definitely gorgeous.
- Watched Pride & Prejuidce - My favorite book of all time, funny how possessive you can feel over a character and how you think she should be portrayed
- Watched Stay - Interesting movie. I'm not sure yet what to think about it - I will have to watch it again
- I am so fortunate in my parents! I Love You Mom & Dad....heeheehee I sound like an 8 year old, but its true!
